Euphoric beginnings - dysphoric present: Anthropological collections at the crossroads between science and ethics

Maria Teschler-Nicola 40,000 human skeletons that the museum received between 1870 and 1920 are being examined in the framework of a research project to determine the circumstances of their acquisition. The results will provide a sound basis for discussing how this part of the anthropological collection should be dealt with today.
